Great hat for yard work
I purchased this for my brother. He would never wear a hat when he worked outside (thought they looked goofy). He likes this hat & has gotten compliments from other men, one of which offered to buy it from him :) I've always been concerned about my brother and his sun exposure because he is very fair skinned. He now wears this hat religiously.

Excellent Sun Hat
I recently purchased this Ultra Sun Hat along with other items after having limited success with other sun hats which either were not ventilated , had brims that flapped in the wind , had limited sun protection of the facial/neck area, or were just too hot and uncomfortable to wear. After communicating this to a sales rep, she suggested the Ultra Sun Hat to satisfy all my requirements: face/neck protection, ventilation for comfort wearing,etc.. After hiking a couple of very hot days, I noticed that the sun protection and wearing comfort were as advertised due to the 4" brim,extra absorbent,adjustable sweatband, ventilation thru 4 air openings in the crown, the chin strap for securing against the wind along with the wire rod at the tip of the brim which keeps the edges turned down and stabilized against wind updraft. This hat along with the "Ultra Athlete Full Zip Shirt" and "Fingerless Gloves" allows me(red hair,blue eyes,light complected) to get out in the sun with the 100SPF protection that I need to excersise without risking damage to my skin. Excellent product that works as advertised.

Love these hats! Great for large heads
My husband is a PE teacher who is in the sun all day long. These hats are a Godsend for him. He has a very large head and could not fit into any hats at local retailers. Nor did they provide the coverage he needed on his neck. He was actually attaching a handkerchief to hat for relief before we found these. He only needed the XL in these and they fit perfect. Would highly recommend. We have tried the dark blue one, but found that it faded horribly. So we stick to the desert khaki. If they found away to make them colorfast, that would be great. We have been a loyal customer for over 8 years. Thank you Solumbra for a great product.

Great hat in all respects
This hat just arrived today on a very sunny day so I tested it out right away. One word describes it - perfect. Excellent fit, good price, very fast shipping, complete sun protection of face, ears and neck. I would definitely recommend the product and the company.

How to Measure

Most Solumbra clothing is oversized.
It is designed with generous proportions to give you freedom to move around. There's no need to order larger sizes. Exceptions are noted in product copy.
Inseam:
Measurement from inside crotch seam to bottom of hem.
Unisex Tall Sizing:
Unisex tall shirts are sized for customers over 6'4" and have sleeve length measurements from center back of M 36"; L 381/2"; XL and 2XL 391/2".
Women's Tall Sizing:
Women's tall pants have a 34" inseam.
Women's Petite Sizing:
Petite garments are sized for customers up to 5'3".
Hats:
Measure around your head with measuring tape above your eyebrows and ears.
Gloves:
Measure around hand across the knuckles (exclude thumb). The number of inches determines glove size. If you are right-handed, measure your right hand and vice versa. People with extra long fingers, or who would like a looser fit should consider ordering a size up.
Shade Sleeves:
Sizing for this garment is based on your Solumbra shirt size.
