Seattle… It's not just about rain and clouds… It's about Solumbra, too.
Seattle is world famous for its rain, grey clouds and green trees. It's dubbed the “Emerald City” for good reason. For nine months of the year, our weather may be overcast and miserable, but for the other three months of the year, it's pure bliss.
Despite our reputation, we do get blue skies, moderately warm weather and rain-free streaks that can be measured in weeks. From the shores along Puget Sound to the peaks near Mt. Rainier, flowers explode with color, snow melts in the high alpine and water warms in the Sound to “bearable.” It's our time to enjoy nature without parkas and gloves. It's also our time to wear and rely on Solumbra.
In this year's catalog, we're featuring some of our wonderful Seattle customers and showcasing a few of the local areas we treasure. (Even the weather cooperated so we knew it was a good idea.)
We've also chosen Seattle for another reason: It's the home of our new factory and offices. We've just settled into a terrific building that allows us to bring our manufacturing, offices and retail store together. It's the first time we've been able to do this since 1993. Plus, we're just around the corner from where our company started 20 years ago.
So when you think of Seattle, think rain, grey skies . . . and Solumbra. Enjoy!
